Tips for registering a domain – The choice of name and domain they are the business card of a site. It's the first image you have of a company or a professional or a blog and usually it's the first impression that counts. But what do you need to do to register a safe and successful domain?
- Register your domain
Choose the name suitable for your site and then the domain name (usually the same as the site) which it divides into top level domain (Top Level Domain or TLD) with extensions like .it or .com And second level domain with domain name. The provider will register the domain with the competent authority.
- Level II domain configuration
In Italy the market is free. The only limitations are the possibility of using letters of the alphabet, numbers from 0 to 9, hyphens and it cannot exceed 63 characters. Two-character domains, with periods, slashes and question marks are not allowed.
- Level I domain
They are the most used and therefore it is advisable to check with the provider the availability of the domain you have chosen before registering. These are the domains with an ending .com, .net, .organd (generic TLDs gTLDs) and those domains specific to each country .it, .de, .es (country-specific TLDs ccTLDs). Since 2013 they have also been releasing commercial domains (.bar .business) or specific cities (.berlin).
Exception : .ch
This is the extension released for Switzerland, but is also used by radio/TV broadcasters. In this case .ch means channel.
